The view due west from Canisp. Late evening sunlight streams across the Inverpollaidh / Assynt moor, highlighting Suilven and Loch na Gainimh beneath. Three weeks of hot dry weather, accompanied by strong easterly winds, had left the moorland as dry as a bone, leading to a number of wild fires (such as the one visible in the distant left of the image, beneath Stac Pollaidh).
